COSMetic Organic Standard / BDIH

BDIH on Saksan teollisuuden ja kaupan liitto. Vuonna 1996 määritetyt kattavat periaatteet asettavat tiukat vaatimukset raaka-aineille, tuotannolle ja ympäristölle. Sertifikaatti määrittelee luonnonkosmetiikan tarkasti, jolloin sen kriteerit luovat läpinäkyvyyttä kuluttajalle. BDIH tarkastaa ja valvoo tuotteiden luomupitoisuuksia, jotta kuluttajalle voidaan taata luotettavaa tietoa tuotteen luomulaatuisuudesta. BDIH:n mukaan tuotetta voidaan kutsua luomuksi vain, jos luomutuotettujen ainesosien osuus tuotteessa on vähintään 95 % (poislukien ne aineet, joita ei ole mahdollista luomuna hankkia kuten vesi ja mineraalit). Standardissa määritellään vaatimukset valmistusaineiden hankkimiselle, tuottamiselle ja käsittelytavoille. Myös lajien suojelu ja eläinten hyvinvointi otetaan huomioon ja eläinkokeet ovat kiellettyjä.

NASAAA National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia

Vuonna 1986 Australiassa perustettu, kansainvälisesti toimiva sertifiointielin. Kosmetiikkatuotteissa käytettävät valmistusaineet, jotka ovat viljeltyjä, on oltava luomutuotettuja. Sertifioitujen terveys- ja kauneustuotteiden tuotanto on suunniteltava niin, että käytettävien ainesosien oleelliset piirteet ja hyödyt säilyvät, sekä vaikutukset ympäristöön minimoidaan. The Vegan Society certification is regarded as the worldwide standard for vegan products and/or formulas. Every product that holds The Vegan Society certification has been carefully formulated without the inclusion of any animal or animal-by products, allowing for a truly vegan formula.
